Overview

Air Powered Double Diaphragm Pump

The diaphragm pump has consisted of two diaphragm chambers and two diaphragms. The diaphragms are connected to each other with a diaphragm rod and move in a reciprocating action. As one diaphragm performs the discharge stroke, the other diaphragm which is connected with the rod is pulled to perform the suction. At the end of the stroke, and air distribution valve automatically shifts, reversing the entire sequence, filling and pumping from alternate chambers.

Mutual movements that are repeated continuously ensure suction and discharge movements onto the fluids in each chamber. Continuously repeated reciprocal motions pump the liquid during entering and exiting the chambers. The flow of the fluid from one chamber to another is regulated by the suction and discharge valves.

The ball and butterfly valves automatically control the fluid suction and discharge of the fluid. The butterfly valves allow passage of the solid particles with a size up to the diameter of the pipe. The ball valves regulate the passage of the small-size particles

Air Powered Double Diaphragm Pump

An air-powered double diaphragm pump is a versatile and reliable option for delivering coating materials in electrostatic spray applications. This type of pump is powered by compressed air, which makes it relatively simple to operate and maintain. It does not require an electrical power source, and it does not generate heat or sparks, making it a good choice for use in potentially explosive or flammable environments.

One of the main advantages of using an air-powered double diaphragm pump in this application is its reliability and versatility. The pump can handle a wide range of liquids and viscosities and is relatively easy to clean and maintain, which is important in applications where contamination is a concern. Additionally, the pump’s diaphragm design allows for a smooth, pulsation-free flow, which helps to prevent splattering or dripping of the coating material. It can also handle abrasive or corrosive liquids, which expands the range of liquids that can be used as coating materials.

The pump is also known for its ability to provide consistent and accurate flow rates, which is important in electrostatic spray applications where precise coating thickness is required. it is also capable of handling high pressure and high volume applications, making it suitable for industrial and commercial use.

Another benefit of using an air-powered double diaphragm pump is that it can be built with different materials of construction such as aluminum, stainless steel, polypropylene, and others, depending on the application, the product being pumped, and the environmental conditions that the pump will be exposed to. This makes it suitable for various industries such as automotive, marine, food & beverage, and more.

Overall, an air-powered double diaphragm pump is a reliable and versatile option for delivering coating materials in electrostatic spray applications, due to its ability to handle a wide range of liquids, provide consistent and accurate flow rates, and withstand harsh environmental conditions.

There are a few key features to consider when selecting an air-powered double diaphragm pump for use with an electrostatic spray gun. These include:

  1. Flow rate: The flow rate of the pump will determine how quickly the coating material can be delivered to the spray gun. It is important to choose a pump with a flow rate that is suitable for your application.
  2. Pressure: The pressure output of the pump will determine how well it can atomize the coating material and how evenly it can be applied. Higher pressure pumps may be necessary for certain coatings or for applying thick or heavy coatings.
  3. Viscosity: The viscosity of the coating material will determine how well it can be pumped and how much pressure is required to move it through the pump. Some air-powered double diaphragm pumps are specifically designed to handle high viscosity materials, while others may be limited to lower viscosity fluids.
  4. Materials of construction: It is important to choose a pump with materials of construction that are compatible with the coating material being used. This will help ensure that the pump can handle the corrosive or abrasive nature of some coatings and prolong the life of the pump.
  5. Ease of maintenance: Air-powered double diaphragm pumps are relatively easy to maintain, but it is important to choose a pump with features such as easily accessible seals and bearings to make maintenance tasks easier.
  6. Compressed air requirements: The pump will require a source of compressed air to operate, so it is important to ensure that you have a suitable air compressor or other air supply available. It is also important to consider the air pressure and flow rate required by the pump.
